![]() | Commands that might be disabled when more than one person is editing a presentation |
You can simultaneously edit presentations in the .pptx or .ppsx file format that are located on Windows Live SkyDrive or a server that has Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 installed. To work with SharePoint in Office for Mac, you have to have Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Business 2011, Microsoft Office for Mac Academic 2011, or Microsoft Office for Mac Standard 2011.
When you are editing a presentation at the same time as another author, certain PowerPoint features are not available.
![]() | Note If you prefer to edit the file separately instead of at the same time as other authors, you can check out the file. On the File menu, click Check Out. When you check out a file, the other authors are "locked out" and can only read the file. |
The following commands will be disabled in PowerPoint if multiple authors are simultaneously editing a file:

In addition, you cannot simultaneously edit a presentation in PowerPoint if the file:

Has embedded fonts
Contains Microsoft Visual Basic macros
Has password protection, a digital signature, or is restricted with IRM
Is marked as final
